Rosamond Special School

Rosamond Community

Parents' Group

The Rosamond Parents' Group was started by a small group of parents, initially as a support group. Over a cuppa and chat, parents were able to share their stories, make connections with others, and develop friendships. Subsequently, this hard-working group has branched into: fundraising through Mothers' and Fathers' Day stalls; organising guest speakers; and by tapping into various other services, providing information on subjects like Companion Cards, Centrelink, NDIS and Respite.

Through their fundraising, the group has been able to donate money to fund programs and equipment, such as: kitchen equipment for our Seeds Cafe, supporting a camp to Hobart, providing stationery items and, as a special treat for all parents to enjoy, our annual end-of-year lunch.

The group has became an integral part of our School community, meeting once a month for morning tea: usually at school, sometimes at local cafe.

The fortnightly school newsletter and the noticeboard in the school foyer always have details about our get-togethers.

Feel free to come and meet with us at any time. We welcome all.

Family picnic March 2017

The 2017 Beginning of Year family picnic was held in the school grounds on the evening of Wednesday 1 March.

Many families brought along picnics to share in the shade of the Primary years playground.

The Snow Cone Zone, run by Exits students Yaser and Mo, proved very popular,a s did the Popcorn Parlour run by one of our teachers, Rose.

Many thanks to the Exits students for their assistance, to the families, and to Letenbiet, who took many of these photographs.

Our industrial mural

MuralReSized

Our industrial mural was unveiled in April 2017. It is on the brick wall near the gate outside the Admin block.

Created by local artist Ali Evans, the mural uses the playground markings from a satellite photo of the former Braybrook Primary School as the inspiration for a ‘blueprint’.
