Federal Budget education funding 2017
Senator the Hon Simon Birmingham, Federal Minister for Education and Training, wrote to our school on 8 May, 2017, with regards to future funding.
He says, in part: “I am pleased to advise that, based on current modelling and your latest enrolment figures as reported to the Commonwealth Department of Education and Training, Rosamond Special School is estimated to see an increase of $54,400 funding from 2017 to 2018.
We estimate an average annual per student increase of 5.2 per cent over the ten years that will deliver a total increase from 2017 to 2027 of $3,365,600. It is important to note that as part of a system, Commonwealth funding attracted by your school is paid to the system.
They may choose to reallocate funding between schools in their system, and have the autonomy to finally determine the amount your school receives. Please note that these are estimates only and assume the same student population applies from 2017 to 2027. Actual payments for your school will vary depending on enrolments. They are also subject to the passage of legislation.”
