Secondary School
Our Secondary Program supports students aged 12–18 and focuses on building independence, confidence, and real-world skills.
Learning is guided by the Victorian Curriculum A–10 and the Towards Independence program. Each student has an Individual Education Plan that supports personalised learning and helps students work towards their individual goals.
Students participate in daily Literacy and Mathematics, with subjects such as Humanities, Science, Geography, History, Civics and Citizenship explored through engaging thematic units and community-based learning experiences.
In addition, students take part in programs including Living Skills, Art, Physical Education, Health, Music, Drama, Library and Sport. A weekly Electives program allows students to explore interests such as photography, dance, drama, science, social media and games.
Our program supports students to develop strong communication, practical mathematics, and social skills, preparing them for life beyond school and future pathways in further education, training, and the community.
Post-Compulsory Program – Towards Independence
Our Post-Compulsory Program supports students to develop the skills and confidence they need for greater independence and participation in the community.
The Towards Independence course focuses on practical learning experiences that build real-life skills. Students strengthen their Literacy and Numeracy while learning important everyday skills such as communication, meal preparation, community access, and personal independence.
Learning often takes place in real-world settings, helping students apply their knowledge in meaningful ways and develop confidence interacting within the community.
The program runs over two years and includes learning areas such as personal development, citizenship, independent living, leisure and recreation, creative studies, and the world of work. Students complete units at a level that suits their individual abilities and receive formal recognition for the modules they complete.
Our goal is to support each student to develop the skills, independence, and confidence needed for life beyond school.
