School Council

The School Council plays a vital role in shaping the strategic direction and governance of a government school. Operating under the guidelines of the Victorian Department of Education, the School Council is responsible for setting the school’s vision, approving the budget, developing key policies, and supporting the principal in strengthening student outcomes.

Made up of elected parents, school staff, and community members, the Council works collaboratively to ensure the school reflects the needs and aspirations of its community while maintaining strong financial and educational accountability. Through shared leadership and community engagement, the School Council helps create a positive, inclusive, and forward-thinking learning environment for all students.

Parents & Friends Group

The Parents & Friends group is a wonderful way for parents, carers, teachers, and our leadership team to stay connected. By working together as a community, we can make sure parent and carer voices are heard at School Council, help improve our school facilities, and create fun and meaningful opportunities for our students and families to come together.

At Rosamond, the Parents & Friends group plays an important part in school life by:

  • Organising fundraising activities that help support our school
  • Bringing our community together through events where everyone can connect and enjoy time together. Such events can include Mother’s and Father’s Day stall, Bunnings sausage sizzles and family movie nights. All of our families are welcome to join the Parents & Friends group. They meet once a term at the school.

All families are warmly invited to join the Parents & Friends group. Meetings are held once a term at the school, and new members are always welcome.
